Asaram Bapu controversy was in news in the year 2009. A case was filed against Bapu and two of his associates regarding murder with Gujarat police. Asaram Bapu case happened in December 2009. The police took out necessary investigations and, In December 2009, the Gujarat Police filed an attempt to murder case against Asaram Bapu and two others. Asaram Bapu case saw new light after the person making the allegations said on video that it was his conspiracy to defame ashrams and SantAsharamJiBapu. He further stated that Asaram Bapu controversy was raised with the aid of few media houses and false allegations were put on the saint. This was the first ever Asaram Bapu controversy which was broadcasted even on television channels on 3^rd April 2010 showing the investigations details and government reports stating that Asaram Bapu case were malign. All the investigation was carried out under Justice DK Trivedi’s close proximity.
